The program features dance by Danielle Currica, Kat Sullivan and Paige Phillips, with videos by Chamecki/Lerner, Amalia Colon-Nava and Anne-Marie Mulgrew.
Danielle Currica will perform a new dance solo currently in process. The movement qualities of the work are an amalgamation of free form movements influenced by dance styles house, African, ballet, modern with a nod to vaudeville and aspects of audience engagement and eye connection informed of Burlesque.
Paige Phillips will present an excerpt from “Apres moi,l’obsurite” a work that is concerned with recontextualizing rituals and imagery from pop-culture and religion to better understand identity politics.
Kat Sullivan is a writer, curator, choreographer/performer. Her duet “Reign” will be presented
Anne-Marie Mulgrew Founder/Artistic Director of Anne-Marie Mulgrew and Dancers Co, a 33-year old experimental modern dance company for whom she has created more than 71 major works that have appeared on traditional concert stages, festivals, alternative venues, unusual places, museums and film in the United States and Canada. Her short video “The Han Project” will be screened.
Chamecki/Lerner based in NYC is a 25-year collaboration between Rosane Chamecki and Andrea Lerner, creating a body of work that includes dance performances, video and installation pieces. Their performance work and film work has been presented in the US.
